of Ariens lawnmowers are quite an agitated group, not without reason
though. Most of their complaints about Ariens fall on deaf ears. Hence,
you need to be aware of the pros and cons.
The displeasure of Ariens owners does not result from unconcern regarding
their complaints alone - most people feel that Ariens web site does
not have enough information about its own product line! The information
about
each of the products is only around three or four sentences, which
is far from sufficient by any standards. Hence, due to lack of
adequate
publicity, the sale of products is considerably low.
The reputation of Ariens mower is quite a blemished one, owing to
never-ending complaints of the users as well as product recalls.
Obviously, all
this gets a bad name for the Ariens lawn mower company as a poor
manufacturer. Of late, the Consumer safety products commission
has issued instructions
to Ariens for the recall of a number of sold products, based on the
complaints
of the harried consumers.
On the latest orders of Consumer safety products commission, 17 models
of Ariens lawn-owers were recalled. The main concern behind this
was the questionable safety and their likelihood of hurting either
the
user or even an unsuspecting onlooker.
Though lately no complaints were received by the commission about
any injury, nevertheless, the recall order was issued as a safeguarding
measure. The root cause of this problem was the cracking plastic
components
of
the lawn mowers, when they were struck by particles that the
blade threw around. The parts wee expelled so unexpectedly from
the lawn
mower that
the possibility of injury to someone could never be ruled out
completely.
No wonder then that a total of nearly 8000 mowers were recalled!

Complaints about Ariens almost ‘topped the chart’ of Consumer
complaint sites. Most of the complaints by and large were about the following:
1. Non-availability
of parts: Even after spending handsome amounts on the purchasemost
owners were apprehensive of long time use of these machines,
basically because their parts were not easily available.
This was reported
by a number of persons who were using them.
2. Lack of complete information:
The Ariens web site boasts of business in many countries,
but does not provide a complete list service centers
in the US itself. Moreover, the site states the local dealer
to be the
best places to approach for parts, but there are no addresses
of any of the dealers.
3. No standardized parts: The non-availability of the spare
parts added to the woes of existing users. Consumers complained Ariens products
almost
became useless when their parts broke down.
Just as contented customers are excellent sources of good
advertisement, discontented customers bring in negative
publicity – any existing
or past user who says that he will never ever purchase Ariens gardening
products again affects the choices of many known people, who could otherwise
be potential users!
